Allcargo Chennai CFS gets nominated by Customs for 24X7 export activity

The nomination of Allcargo Logistics’ Chennai CFS for 24X7 export activity by the Indian Customs is a matter of pride and honour for the company. It bolsters the company’s initiatives to boost the cargo volumes of the Chennai port and deliver enhanced value propositions to customers through value-added services.

Customs officers will be deployed in 3 shifts to ensure that the station is manned between 11:00 am-2:00 am to boost seamless cargo transportation. The geographical advantage possessed by the Chennai CFS by being in the closest proximity of 9 km from the Chennai port will be leveraged to the fullest extent. The development will also ensure optimal utilization of resources and result in zero waiting time for stuffing of export containers, and providing 24X7 export carting facility for customers.
Equipped by the latest technology of tracking containers with close-range passive RFID tags accompanied by the unique feature of high speed stuffing and de-stuffing the Chennai CFS has always proven its efficiency of achieving significant figures in exports and imports. With export carting available 24X7 for our customers, there will be no time limit for stuffing the export containers.
Set up in 2007, the Chennai CFS is spread over 24 acres. Handling a significant percentage of the overall import volume of the Chennai Port, it specializes in the areas of LCL and FCL and provides cargo consolidation services to customers. The CFS also handles hazardous cargo and ODC. The facility is the 1st CFS to be equipped with brand new state-of-the-art RTG cranes in India. With a significant emphasis on utilization of renewable energy, the facility has solar panels installed for electricity generation as well as LED fixtures in it’s high-mast fitted floodlights, for energy conservation. Crucial to the Pan-India operations of Allcargo, the CFS has been central to boosting the global trade volumes of the company
