Allcargo has always been conscious about taking care of Mother Nature throughout the year. World Environment Day, on 5th June, is one such occasion when her virtues are celebrated and steps are taken to take care of the environment for a sustainable future.
Following the theme of 2020, ‘Celebrate Biodiversity’, Allcargo CFS Mundra took time out for nature and arranged for an awareness programme where all the staff members, labourers, drivers and other people associated with the CFS got insights on the importance of environment conservation.
A part of the session also dealt with explaining to everyone how the lockdown across the country had been
fatal for the economy, but had acted as a healing power for the environment. The world has become greener, pollution has reduced and the hole in the Earth’s Ozone layer has narrowed. Thus the lockdown has come as a boon for nature.
Keeping in mind the current scenario of COVID-19, social distancing was strictly maintained throughout the session.
5 saplings of mango trees and 1 coconut tree sapling were planted in the areas surrounding the CFS. Proper care will be taken so that these saplings grow up into shady trees and help in reducing the degradation of the environment to some extent.
Team Mundra wishes to continue this legacy of planting trees and also increase the number of the saplings in the coming years, with the hope that it will make the world a better and greener place to live in.
