Allcargo and JNPT convert its training center to Covid 19 hospital of 120 beds
The move is part of the several initiatives taken by Allcargo in its fight against the pandemic amid rising numbers of cases in India.
As an initiative of JNPT, Allcargo’s skill development center, Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra (PMKK) located at Bokadvira in Uran has been converted into a COVID care center with 120 beds and an ambulance service. Allcargo supported the JNPT initiative by lending/ availing its training center space for the good national cause.
The training centre has been temporarily handed over, along with an ambulance, to the district administration, for treating patients from the local community.
The beds provided by JNPT are made up of non-usable cardboard sheets used for packaging of large sized goods. The premises in under continues watch of the authorities with sufficient staff to manage the patients flow. Sanitization of the premises being done at regular intervals.
PMKK Centre operates in collaboration with JNPT and CIDCO under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) flagship scheme of the Union Government’s Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE). The center is continuously engaged with its students to retain their learning interests through virtual training program.
