At a scholarship distribution event that was held at Bantwal in Mangalore, India, 600 students received financial assistance for their education. The very basis of the Disha initiative is a belief that all children deserve the right to learn, grow and excel in the fields of their choice. Coming mostly from humble backgrounds, these students would now be able to continue studying and developing their skills and talent to create a brighter future for themselves, their families and communities.
Mr. Nalin Kumar Kateel, Member of Parliament from Karnataka; Mr. Vivek Shetty, President, Bantawalada Buntara Bhavana; Mr. Kiran Hegde, Vice President, Bantawalada Buntara Bhavana; Mr. Chandrahasa Shetty, Secretary, Bantawalada Buntara Bhavana; Dr. Nilratan Shende, GM - CSR, Allcargo Logistics Limited; Mr. Sadananda Shetty, Chairman, Shree Devi Education Trust; and Mr. Harish Shetty, President, World Bunts Federation; graced the occasion with their presence. After distributing scholarships, the dignitaries also spoke to the students and shared words of hope and wisdom with the gathering of over a 1000 attendees.
