Mr. Ambadas Yadav, Sr. Manager HR, Transindia Logistic Park Pvt. Ltd. and Mr. Brijmohan Raturi, Asst. Manager HR, JNPT graced the occasion as Chief Guests. Mr. Yadav spoke about the importance of skills while charting a successful career path and Mr. Raturi focused on the logistics sector and the role of skill development in its growth.
The first discussion on mobilisation touched upon aspects like how students found out about the course, what motivated them to join, the influence of their parents and mentors in their decision, how easy the process was for them, etc. It led to understanding ways in which maximum youngsters could be reached out to and persuaded to join skill development programmes.
Next up was a discussion on the training and learning facilities where students were encouraged to share their thoughts on what needed to be added to the curriculum, their soft skill training needs, the mix between classroom training and on-the-job training, technology that could be used and more.
All the teachers and staff of the training centre attended the event that was also broadcasted live on Facebook, in order to connect with as many current and potential students as possible. We concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Chandrakant Patil, the centre in-charge and a positive assurance that each one would support the centre by creating awareness about skill development in their vicinity.
As individuals who have experienced training first-hand and are also looking forward to explore the industry at close quarters, the students were indeed the best ones to share feedback and suggest changes!
